Inergy LP, the fourth largest propane dealer in the country, has announced plans to add a 20-mile, 20-inch diameter lateral pipeline in Texas, according to a recent press release from Industrial Info Resources.
The new pipeline will transport up to 100 million standard cubic feet of gas per day to Copano Energy LLC’s Houston Central Gas Gathering Plant. Copano primarily deals with natural gas, with operations located throughout Texas, Wyoming, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. However, they also provide valuable propane-related services including treatment and fractionation of natural gas liquids.
“Inergy is pursuing multiple organic growth projects in an effort to continue to create strategic value for customers and to deliver returns for our investors,” Inergy’s website states. Because approximately 70% of retail propane is sold during the peak home heating season, from October through March, administrators are excited about the opportunity to expand this time of year. The Kansas City-based company serves approximately 700,000 propane users spanning 33 states.
