American Propane Gas Company, an Oklahoma-based propane appliance company that supplies everything from gas logs and heaters to fireplace inserts and grills, celebrated the Fourth of July weekend a bit early with ‘Open Flame,’ a patriotically-themed gourmet picnic this week, NewsOK.com reported.

Organized in part by a group of Oklahoma City chefs, attendees sampled tasty delights like marinated salmon sliders with jalapeno chow chow and roasted red pepper sliders with Gruyere cheese, and finished up with some festive red, white and blue ice cream. American Propane frequently offers classes on cooking with propane grills and appliances, and several food specialists were on hand to offer tips.

Don’t be too upset if you missed out on the action – all you competitive propane barbeque people can rev up your spatulas for the company’s next championship grilling event coming up on July 21. And, we’ve got some culinary tips for you right here. Check out this quick online demo about propane smoke cookers!
